Finger Spring


Several spring designs are used to keep the mechanical seal faces together when there is little to no pressure in the pump stuffing box.


Single coil and multiple coil springs are the most popular, but finger springs can often be used if axial space is a problem. Wave springs are another alternative if axial space is at a premium.
