FOOT BEARING F028
A foot bearing is frequently placed in the bottom of a mixer or agitator to help stabilize the long mixer shaft.
The bearing is a sleeve or journal bearing manufactured from carbon or some other appropriate material.
Unfortunately these bearings have a short life because they fill up with the solids that are used in the mixing process and erode the foot bearing rapidly, allowing excessive movement of the shaft.
